Alright, beginner blogger here. I don't know how consistent I'll really be but it's probably better than posting everything I feel on Facebook... not that I really do, but you understand.
Update:
I've moved from cozy suburbia in Albany to live in bustling New York City, right in Manhattan! It's the real deal, I can walk about (42-27=?) 15 blocks and be standing in Times Square right where the ball drops on New Years. It's kind of bizarre actually, to live in the middle of everything I've ever wanted and still take it for granted at times (a lot).
New York really is a place where a dinner can change your life (I'm still waiting...). There is a just a feeling in the city where you think anything can happen. At times I just go for a walk and people-watch, it's amazing to think about why these people are all here? How did their careers bring them here? Are they in fashion, photography, advertising, lawyers, students, or any of the thousands of careers in the city?
I attend the Fashion Institute of Technology. Needless to say the college experience in NYC is quite interesting, and not your typical experience. I live in a 25 story residence hall with 3 other girls in my suite and share half a closet with my roommate....yeah it's a problem. But I'll sacrifice my closet to be here, maybe not gladly but it's what you gotta do.
PS: This is my favorite photo of one of the campus's building @ night.
We are located right on 7th Ave, super busy alllll the time :)

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE NYC...and sometimes I feel like I have to defend it and pretend to others that it is the perfect place to live (ever). But there are times it drains you to live here. There's the constant noise, lack of trees, insane competition, and unfriendly glances. I try to schedule "tree time" into my schedule so I make sure I get my dose of nature and beautiful creations.
Although New Yorkers seem cold and serious, they are the realest people I've ever met, they tell you like it is and for someone allergic to fake it's the perfect place for me. They might like to act cold towards you, but the more you explore NYC you realize that they flock together as much as they can whether its at Central Park, the High Line, Rockefeller Center during Christmas, the steps at the MET, or other places. People go just to sit and be together, there's also a feeling of loneliness in the city and it's great just sit with other New Yorkers. Who knows you might sit next to someone who can make your dreams come true....just gotta wait and see ;)
